Sydney makes QS ‘Best Student Cities in the World’ list
Sydney has been ranked the sixth in the QS ‘Best Student Cities in the World 2012’ survey, beating many popular study destinations in the US, Europe and Asia.
Administered by the Top Universities website, the ranking looks at population size, quality of living, affordability and student mix, relying information and data submitted as part of the QS World University Rankings.
Festival celebrates international students

More international students study in NSW than any other Australian state, contributing $5.8 billion to the NSW economy in 2010/11.
International students will again be recognised at the second NSW International Student Festival, to be held on Sunday March 4.
The free festival is vibrant community event that is open to students, their friends and families, and includes live entertainment, information and a variety of food stalls.
NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell says the festival is a great way for the Government to welcome international students and thank them for their contribution to the community and state economy.
Getting settled in Sydney: a student’s tips
Studying overseas is an adventure and a great life experience. But learning a new culture, speaking a different language, living on your own and making new friends can be challenging, especially when it is your first time away from home.
